As we come to the end of 2024 and enter the second half of this decade, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all our members for their ongoing support for The Health Creation Alliance.

So, the gun is fired on the general election, traditionally a time for party pledges, bold claims and NHS-related promises. But this time feels different.

As colleagues at The Health Creation Alliance (THCA) prepare to down tools for a few days over the festive period, we are very mindful of the difficult times so many people are finding themselves in.

After a hugely busy 2022 in which we made a big splash with our bold assertion that ‘Health Creation is Coming of Age’, it has been no less busy as we focus on the future and prepare for a louder 2024!

The start of 2023 has been a challenging time for many. The cost-of-living crisis, the ongoing impact of COVID-19 and extreme winter pressures have led to the perfect storm that is being felt across health and care workforces and by society as a whole. Underlying all this is the disappointing trend towards an increase in health inequalities.

With increased awareness of the importance of community in health and wellbeing, the last few months have been a busy time for The Health Creation Alliance. We have focused our efforts on embedding Health Creation across the health and care systems including the emerging Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).
