Community organisations are a key backbone of local life – they respond to needs, build connection, and strengthen the social fabric that underpins health and wellbeing. But understanding how and why this makes a difference has always been a challenge.
Delivered in partnership with THCA and led by Professor Rachel Baker, Yunus Chair at Glasgow Caledonian University and Director of the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health, this inspiring webinar shared some of the emerging findings from an ambitious NIHR-funded, three-year study that brought together researchers, community partners, and people with lived experience. Using both realist and economic evaluation, the project uncovered what works, in what contexts, and how these insights can be applied in practice.

Delivered by Professor Andy Knox MBE, Associate Medical Director of Population Health for NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB, this one-hour event provided participants with the opportunity explore why more than ever we need an economy of wellbeing and the role of Health Creation in supporting this, and the kind of relational and participatory politics and systems needed to deliver real change. The Forum also provided a platform for the launch of Andy´s paper on the topic entitled: Re-imagining economics for a healthier society.

Delivered by Peter Hayes, Non-Executive Director of THCA, Chair of Turning Point, and Director of Peter Hay Consulting, the purpose of the event was to consider what sort of ‘provider offer’ might provide a much-needed reset to accommodation-based social care – including the adoption and embedding of Health Creation – and a platform for people to live better lives.
