 Your Health Creation Newsletter December 2024  As we come to the end of 2024 and enter the second half of this decade, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all our members for their ongoing support for The Health Creation Alliance. As a member organisation our legitimacy and credibility come from our deep connection to our members and partners; so whether you are a reader of our regular updates, attend our events, or you are one of our recently appointed Ambassadors, its only through your ongoing support that we are able to advance our purpose to see Health Creation embedded in systems alongside the treatment of illness and prevention of ill health. Through 2024, our members have been central to a number of activities, for which THCA team and I thank you! These include: * Support for development and launch of our 2024 Manifesto for whole system change * Contributing to a number of high-profile events and forums, including our most recent event: HOW CHANGE HAPPENS: A focus on Health Creation and Economic Prosperity * Inputting into a number of important consultations, including ChangeNHS * Supporting us contribute to a number of high-profile partner events such as those hosted by The Kings Fund and The NHS Confederation * Input into the construction and delivery of a range of client programmes such as CORE20PLUS5 and a Voice for Tenants As we look to 2025, there will be many more activities and opportunities for THCA to build on the insights, experience, support, wisdom and passion of our members in reducing health inequities, and my blog below considers some of these and why the time for Health Creation has finally come. It goes without saying that I wish you all a wonderful festive season and here’s to a great 2025 for each and every one of us. Merron Simpson Chief Executive HOW CHANGE HAPPENS: a focus on Health Creation and economic prosperity Event video now available  On 5 December 2025, over 110 participants were able to join our 1.5 hour on-line event to explore how, by looking through four different lenses and drawing on the wisdom the contributors, they could shed some light on the conundrum of how change actually happens and how we could all become better equipped to reorient our systems, policies and society towards a health creating paradigm. Advancing Health Creation – announcements and events – Hold the date… hold the date…hold the date…hold the date…hold Health Creation Big Summit Im May 2025, THCA will be scheduling our next Action Summit. This multi-sector national in-person event will celebrate health creating approaches while demonstrating how Health Creation can be further adopted and embedded into systems. While we are still building the programme, it is likely to focus on: Health creating communities | Health creating health and social care systems | Health creating homes, spaces and places | Health creating pathways to employment | Health creating research Pop the date in the diary and we will share more information early next year.  Excellence in Health Creation Awards 2025 Recognising and rewarding best practice in Health Creation We are delighted to announce that the Excellence in Health Creation Awards are back for 2025. Open for entries from February onwards, at which time the award catagories will be shared, the award winners will be announced and celebrated at The Big Summit.
