  • New GP funding formula pushed back – NHS England has confirmed that a new GP funding formula will not be sought before 1 April 2018 despite expectations that it would inform the 2017-18 GP contract. HSJ
  • NHS Hospitals ‘Being Crippled’ By Cost Of Agency Staff– Nearly every single hospital trust is breaching caps on the amount they can spend on agency staff because they can’t recruit enough doctors and nurses to safely staff wards. Sky News
  • Unhelpful receptionists lead to lower patient satisfaction scores – Practices with unhelpful receptionists have lower patient satisfaction scores, a study has revealed. GPonline and Times
  • Nursing course launched as stepping stone to degree– A new fast-track nursing qualification designed to help students from less academic backgrounds prepare for degree education is due to start in Sheffield. Nursing Times
  • Dementia patients face a care lottery – Dementia patients are facing a postcode lottery with figures showing that the quality of care varies wildly around the country. Times
