The NHS Alliance would like to congratulate Professor Steve Field on his appointment as Chief Inspector of General Practice. Professor Field is highly praised as an authority on general practice, and his past experience in primary care more than qualifies him for the role. We are also delighted that there is now a GP and primary care representative at a senior level in the health sector, and we hope that this will mean there is a greater emphasis on the importance of primary care at the highest levels.
